Early Saturday morning at Mom's place

Fido and Rover play with Rascal. Suzy looks on in amusement

The Class of '68 rode in the Askov fair parade

We parade down the street past the school and the old Presbyterian church

Finally, on to Main street and the cheering crowds!

Vehicles in the parade include Marvin Johnson's wooden car

One of a couple of floats encouraging voters not to split Pine county

The parade winds up with more floats and a few horses

Mom did pretty well this year. Her loaf of blue ribbon white bread sits beside Charlotte Tvedt's blue ribbon whole wheat bread made from home-ground flour. You should have sampled the whole wheat angel food cake!

A meal at the school cafeteria, or "Why I Left Minnesota". Let's see -- a bit of corn, then a generous supply of mashed rutabaga, a half slice of bread, some carrot sticks... Continuing at lower left we have red cabbage, and meatballs and potatoes. Hey, it actually tasted OK, but it's rather ethnic and fairly unusual.

Members of our class, stuck in school again!

We wound up the day with a delightful visit with Del and Gladys Leckband
